With over 60 years of history, 400 members and more than 1,000 hectares of vineyards, Cantina di Ruvo di Puglia proposes itself as a leading production reality in the wine scene not only locally, but nationally. Indeed, supporting internationalization policies and processes, Cantina di Ruvo di Puglia places its products on Italian, European and non-EU markets. Its great commitment is aimed at enhancing the native vines, which are bred with innovative techniques but always in the name of the centuries-old wine tradition of the area.
The main purpose of Cantina di Ruvo di Puglia is the production of high-quality wines which, through their aromatic set, reflections and flavours, speak of a generous land, rich in charm, history and culture: the Murgia of Bari and in particular the area between Castel del Monte and Ruvo di Puglia. On these hilly slopes, which slope from 450 to 250 metres a.s.l. and are characterized by a typically Mediterranean climate and a clayey composition of the soil, some historic vines are cultivated: white, neutral, fruity and well-structured wines are obtained from Bombino Bianco, Greco, Trebbiano and Pampanuto grape varieties; Bombino Nero variety is an excellent and unequalled base for obtaining rosé wines of refined structure and elegance; Nero di Troia, Sangiovese and Bombino Nero are essential grape varieties for obtaining those great, full-bodied, balanced and harmonious red wines; lastly Moscatello is a typically aromatic grape variety and an excellent base for sweet and dessert wines.
