Antica Masseria Jorche

Antica Masseria Jorche, located in Torricella, a small historic centre in the province of Taranto, enjoys a strategic position as it is immersed in the green of olive trees and the surrounding countryside, about 6 kilometres from the wonderful coasts of the Ionian Sea.

The area, the heart of the PDO Primitivo di Manduria wine, is quite central and so it allows to easily reach various points of historical and cultural interest in Puglia.
The Masseria dates back to the end of the 1600s, a period in which Puglia was under Spanish domination, and over time it has been the property of several nobles, until 1990 when the Gianfreda family decided to buy it from the heirs of Baron Vito Bardoscia.

"Jorche" (transformed from the local dialect into "Furchi") is the original name of the Masseria, deriving from Spanish, and certainly refers to the first owner.
After the restoration and embellishment works of the structure, today Antica Masseria Jorche is a double reality: on the one hand, it offers hospitality, relaxation and good food, on the other, it is a winery that covers the entire supply chain (from the cultivation to the bottling), all combined by a spirit of respect, enhancement and care of the territory.
These two spheres of activity, closely linked to each other, enrich and support each other, reflecting that famous project in which the family has always believed and invested. Just for this reason today the company is managed by the two sisters Dalila and Emanuela Gianfreda, two young girls who, after studying far from home, have decided to return to the land to which they have always been strongly linked.
