
On the occasion of our tour to the Tremiti Islands we discovered the lovely restaurant L'altra Faro, located in the center of the island of San Domino.
San Domino is the largest of the Tremiti Islands, immersed in the Adriatic 12 miles from the Gargano coast, they are known for their beauty and for being one of the three Apulian marine parks.

We met Chef Annalisa Lisci, a native of Treviso and owner of the restaurant. Annalisa told us that every morning at dawn she reaches with her boat the nets thrown the previous afternoon to offer freshly caught fish. For her, this moment of the day is an opportunity to experience her sea alone and in peace
At L'Altro Faro, you can dine on the terrace under a starry sky, listening only to the chirping of cicadas and the smells coming from the kitchens. We were delighted by the famous carbonara di mare and a perfect fried fish.
The freshest fish was the absolute protagonist of our menu accompanied by a bottle of Malvasia Bianca Salento IGP from the PaoloLeo Cellars.

It is a white Malvasia vinified in purity in the Salento countryside between Brindisi and Lecce.
Its straw yellow color with bright reflections is accompanied by hints of mango and papaya and citrus notes. The taste is fresh and persistent and its delicacy and aroma are ideal for pairing with fish specialties.

The excellent dishes, good wine and the friendliness of all the staff made the evening particularly pleasant.
