Uascezze! Term of the Bari dialect that indicates a banquet among friends in joy, but also indicates a festive mood. Today La Uascezze is also the name of a typical restaurant, in the historic center of Bari, in one of the many alleys that tempt you to walk aimlessly through the old city.

A small portal introduces in a typical restaurant " underside" of the historical center, a theory of environments develops creating a fascinating and evocative path between ancient stone walls.

The atmosphere inside is warm and welcoming, it seems to have taken a leap into the Middle Ages.
The menu of La Uascezze offers exclusively traditional dishes and typical products, even the less "famous" ones, difficult to find: rigorously handmade taralli, Martina's capocollo smoked in the trullo, donkey sausage, sweet and sour sauces fruit, homemade vegetable and ricotta squant pates with cherry tomatoes and hot bread, vegetables in oil, cold cuts and cheeses, buckwheat, broad beans and chicory, cicerchie soup or black chickpeas from the Murgia time and clearly his majesty the focaccia.
Generous wine list, here are what we tasted

Cacc 'e Mmitte di Lucera, by Alberto Longo, characterized by an intense, persistent aroma, rich in hints of wild berries, and a harmonious, round taste with good structure and tannins. It is the ideal wine to accompany traditional dishes, especially second courses based on meat and fatty fish.
Adelphos Verdeca Vivo Puglia Igp, by Angiuli Donato, a wine with golden reflections, hints of white flowers and vanilla, persistent sapid texture and a light vivacity. Excellent to accompany a small aperitif before our lunch.
The Uascezza is always a confirmation. It offers rustic and at the same time refined atmospheres, friendly staff, traditional dishes with typical and quality ingredients.
The location is excellent for a convivial dinner and to taste the dishes "of the past" in the heart of old Bari
