On the occasion of the Italian Coastal Rowing & Beach Sprint Championship, which was held in Barletta in September 2021 with the participation of over 500 athletes from all over Italy, Le Strade Del Vino Puglia, in collaboration with the Itinerapuglia association, organised a food and wine tour to taste the excellent products of our land.
It was a real journey into the Apulian flavours and scents, that really conquered everyone: the President of the Italian Rowing Federation, Giuseppe Abbagnale, the two Olympic rowing champions, Stefano Oppo and Pietro Ruta, and the athletes who took part in the competition.
The Italian Sommelier Association collaborated on the evening tasting, contributing to the guided tasting of some of the best wineries in this area, selected by Le Strade Del Vino Puglia, such as Cantina Spelonga, Madri Leone, Re Dauno and Torrevento winery, tasted with some Apulian gastronomic specialities: from the PGI Burrata di Andria of the "Consorzio Burrata di Andria" to the PDO Altamura Bread of the "Consorzio Pane di Altamura DOP", from the delicious taralli of the "Frutti del Grano" company to the unique extra virgin olive oil of the "Casa Settanni" producer.

The next appointment is in 2022, again in Barletta, with the Italian Beach Sprint Championship, when we will once again work closely with the Rowing Italian Federation to plan and organise the collateral events.
